I would like to nominate Chip Sanchez (Joseph A. Sanches) for Catch of the Month. On my visits to Advising during the rush this summer, I had the pleasure of observing Chip in his role as Student Support Specialist in KC Central. He is unfailingly patient with students, going to great lengths to help in any way he can. Even in the most stressful moments, his dry sense of humor is evident. While his hours may be 8-5, you won't find Chip bolting to the parking lot at quitting time, abandoning the students or his colleagues. He will stay till the last student has been served, working well over his 40 hours. In addition to his other duties, Chip is a valuable member of the Suspension Appeals Committee. His positive outlook, empathy and caring are evident in his interactions with students and colleagues alike. Chip Sanchez embodies all of the concepts that are the foundation of the FISH philosophy and I believe that he is a stellar candidate for this award!
