
General Counsel
Welcome to the Office of General Counsel (OGC) of Lone Star College System.
The primary mission and goals of the OGC are to provide legal guidance for the District, to uphold and interpret policies as approved by the Lone Star College System Board of Trustees, to provide sound legal services to the District, and to ensure District compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
The OGC also provides the following services to the District:
- Analyzes and advises Lone Star College System on policy matters, procedures, and contracts;
- Represents Lone Star College System in litigation matters;
- Conducts various training seminars throughout the District, including but not limited to, civil rights, supervisory training, and contracting;
- Responds to Open Records requests as needed; and
- Reviews and approves contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
The office of general counsel represents Lone Star College System in all litigation matters, administrative proceedings, civil rights matters, and commercial transactions.
