What are the admissions requirements?
In addition to the College admissions requirements the following are required for the Respiratory Care Associate degree program.
- Complete and submit an application to the respiratory care program.
- Eligibility to enter ENGL 1301 and MATH 0310.
- Verification of graduation from an accredited high school (official transcript required) - OR – verification of completion of the General Education Development Test, G.E.D.
- If you have attended another college(s), other than our college, please furnish this office with an official transcript from that college(s).
- Minimum age of eighteen (18) years of age at program completion.
- Register online to make an appointment to take the HOBET exam (paid by student).
- Attendance at the scheduled ORIENTATION SESSION the week prior to the start of class in the Respiratory Care Program.
- A statement of satisfactory health from a licensed physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner including designated laboratory test & immunization records. This form will be provided at the orientation session.
- Student application must be completed by September 15 to be considered for the January program.
How many students are accepted?
Admission is limited to twenty – four (24) students. Students are ranked & selected on the following criteria by the Admissions Committee.
- Completion of all general academic courses for the Respiratory Care Program
- Completion of 9 semester hours including BIOL 2401 & ENGL 1301
- GPA
- Date of admission
