More about the Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) Degree
The AAT Degree leads to Texas teacher certification.
The AAT is a state-approved degree program consisting of lower division (i.e. freshman and sophomore level) courses that will transfer to teacher preparation programs.
When all requirements are met, the AAT degree is fully transferable to any public university offering Texas teacher certification.
The AAT Degree plan is designed for:
- First-time-in-college student
- Paraprofessional to become highly qualified according to the No Child Left Behind Act
- Substitute teacher who desires to receive Texas teacher certification
