  • Librarian honors son by helping others

    Lone Star College-Tomball reference Librarian Alpana Sarangapani has spread her cause for literacy to a small town on the other side of the world, honoring her son in the process. Motivated by the sudden passing of her son, Nitin, in 2005, Alpana and her husband, Ram, established and dedicated a library in 2006 in his honor in Assam, India, Alpana's homeland.

  • White honored as top theater educator

    Sherri Ryan White, a veteran theater educator at Lone Star College-Tomball was recently named as the recipient of the 2008 Community College Educator of the Year Award by the Texas Educational Theatre Association.

  • Hawkins to Retire as College President

    Lone Star College-Tomball president, Dr. Ray Hawkins has announced his retirement effective Aug. 31, 2009.

    The Lone Star College-Tomball Wellness Center, open to all faculty and students as well as the public, offers cardio and weight rooms, courts for badminton, basketball, and volleyball. The Wellness Center also offers the district’s only indoor jogging track.

    The Surgical Technology program is a one-year course of study that trains students to work as a vital member of an operating room health care team. Courses are held on-campus and clinicals conducted at off-campus local hospital sites to enable students to have training in functional operating rooms.
